Senior Day

This past Friday, my mom and I headed to Ruston, LA for the weekend.  My sister's best friend, Annie was getting married and my mom and Carol were catering and I was helping them out.  We left Friday morning so that we could get in to town early enough to visit Louisiana Tech, which is my other option for school next year.  I was really excited to go to LaTech.  My former roommate, Maranda, goes there and got to give us a tour.  It was really good to see her!
This is Maranda and I outside of the speech path building at LaTech
Also this weekend was senior weekend for the baseball team.  This was actually very sad for me.  As most of you all know, I have been in charge of the diamond dolls since my freshman year.  So, needless to say, it was a little emotional for me.  Three of the seniors have been here playing all four years so we've been together this whole time.  It was a lot of fun!
These are the 6 seniors.  (From the left) Kurt Peppenhorst, Beau Martin, Brock Green, Tom Ward, Ryan Westover and Zac Treece
Here are the seniors again!  They are all such dorks!  Michelle and I got them to take a picture by their numbers but they all wanted to take one "with their guns out."  In the words of them all, "suns out guns out."  Don't their sweet farmers tans look sexy?
This is a picture of me and Brock.  It is probable one of my new favorite pictures.  Brock and I have been good friends since freshman year.  He is one of the ones that I am going to miss the most!  He is currently my neighbor and I am not sure what I am going to do without him next year!
This is me and Tom.  Tom is our token Australian.  He is one of the sweetest and funniest people that I know.  I am going to be extremely sad when it is time for him to get on a plane to leave in May. :(
Here are all of the boys again.  This time, they cooperated and took a good picture! (:
This is Becca, me and Michelle.  We are all three diamond dolls.  I am leaving them in charge next year.  They're to carry on without me :(
This is me and Kurt (aka Pepp).  He is another one that I am going to miss deeply.  Pepp transferred to OBU last year and he is one of my favorite people!  I am going to be sad when he leaves as well!
This is me and Brock's mom, Ms. Cindy.  Momma Green has taken such good care of me these 4 years.  Whether it was feeding me, letting me stay at her house, or just going to the games.  I am going to miss seeing her every weekend!

Needless to say, I am getting a little emotional about graduating.  It hadn't really hit me until just recently.  I didn't realize how many friends that I may not ever see again and it is started to make me sad.  I have had such a wonderful time being in charge of the diamond dolls these past four years.  I am going to be extremely sad once it's all over next weekend! :(

Tulsa University

A few weeks ago, my mom and I went to visit my first grad school.  I got accepted to Tulsa University and I was really excited to go and visit the campus.  My friend, Anne, goes to TU so I had my own personal tour guide with was a lot of fun.  While we were in Tulsa, we got to stay with my Aunt Cheryl which I was really excited about.  I don't get to see her that often so we had a lot of fun!

This first picture is just me, mom and my aunt Cheryl
This is a picture of one of my favorite parts of Tulsa University.  The library is absolutely gorgeous and the courtyard in front of it is gorgeous as well.  If I choose to go to Tulsa University, the speech path building is right next to this so I'll get to see it every day!
This is just a little group of pictures that I put together on my phone.  I like to make collages so here is just another one! (:
My mom made me take the awkward "new student photo" so here I am sitting on the TU sign next to the highway.  I got so many funny looks while I climbed all over this thing but the pictures turned out kind of cute! (:
I really enjoyed getting to visit Tulsa University.  The school is gorgeous and they seem to have an amazing program.  My decision is officially a very difficult one! :/

Spring Break 2012

Considering that this is my spring break of my senior year, I must say that I had quite the exciting break!! I spent my entire break with my sister, mother and my niece and nephew. It was so much fun! These first three pictures are from the weekend before spring break started. My mom and I came up to Fort Smith to see Emilee and Dean and we got to have Mackenzie for those few days. We had so much fun! Mackenzie has such a personality! She is so funny!
The weather lately has been absolutely GORGEOUS!  These are all pictures of my spring break!  My spring break consisted of gorgeous weather and my adorable and hilarious niece and nephew!
Over the weekend, I had to work the OBU baseball games.  It was absolutely GORGEOUS outside in case you couldn't tell in this picture!
After sitting at the game for 3 hours, I left to go home and surprisingly I had some absolutely terrible tan lines!  This is just what I got from my Chaco's.  My shoulders were about 100 times worse!  Who knew that 3 hours of sitting at a baseball game I'd get more sun that a whole afternoon of laying out!

legal

On February 23, I finally turned 21 years old! Considering I lived in Austria for a summer where I was legal, I was kind of over the whole "I can legally buy alcohol" thing so I didn't have any type of celebration really! Ha ha But what I did do was spent the weekend with my cousin Lauren, which one one of my favorite things to do! Lauren and I have so much fun together and I was really glad that she spent my birthday weekend with me!

This is Lauren and I at one of the baseball games that were during my birthday weekend! (:
One night over the weekend, we did go to the Clubhouse (or the Turtle Pit as my Uncle Terry calls it) with some of our friends! This is Lauren, me and Leah on our way to the Clubhouse!
This is Lauren and I with my first legally bought drink in the United States! (:
I had a wonderful birthday and I am so lucky to have the friends that I do! (:

Tulsa University

This morning was one of the first mornings that I haven't woken up worrying about graduate school. Thinking about it right now, it felt amazing to not have those horrible, stressful things going through my mind. Well, I got up and got ready for therapy just like every other Monday or Wednesday and headed to therapy. At my second therapy site I got an email while I was with my client. After I took my last client back to her class, I checked my email and I found out that...

I GOT ACCEPTED TO TULSA UNIVERSITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited! Tulsa was one of the schools that I was really hoping to get accepted to and I was getting a little discouraged about it. I can't wait to go visit the campus! Hopefully my decision of where to go wont be too difficult to make!! (:

time to take out another loan

about two weeks ago, i found out that i got accepted in to graduate school and i am so excited about it. i have been stressing out about graduate school for quite some time now. a few of my friends who had applied to schools had already been hearing back from the schools that they had applied to and i hadn't heard anything yet. needless to say, i was about to have a break down! luckily, i contacted the school and found out that they had actually sent my acceptance letter to the wrong address. i was so thankful that i had decided to call and check on it or else i would have lost my spot. but anyway, i mailed in my response form so until i hear back from all of my schools, i will be attending Louisiana tech in the fall and i am very excited about it. Louisiana Tech has a very good speech pathology program and i already know a few people that are going to school there which is great! i was a little bit nervous about starting somewhere 100% new & not knowing a single person so i am anxious to see what happens! (:
anyway, as of right now, sometime this summer i will be making a move to a brand new place and i am very excited about it! i am anxious to see what is in store for me.

i'm not shutting up & neither should you

I got the title of today's blog from one of my friends. Her name is Judea Jackson. I saw this video yesterday and was more than moved by it. I took action within 2 minutes after the video ended. This video has gone viral and for good reason. Everyone should take a few minutes and watch this video if you have not had the chance to watch it yet; and I mean EVERYONE. I watched it yesterday and was balling my eyes out. They're exactly right too. Up until I saw this video yesterday, I had NO idea who Joseph Kony was and I doubt you do either. Joseph Kony is someone that we need to make famous. We need to make him famous and we need to put a stop to what he is doing. But before we can do that, you have to watch the video. You can say you don't have time to do it right now and that's fine. But take the time to watch it at some point VERY soon. This is our time to make a difference in the world. It's our chance to shape history. We can do something so wonderful for the world and not because it is something that will benefit America in any way, but because it's the right thing to do. So please, watch the video and do something that will make a difference.

Also, Judea posted an amazing entry on her own blog about this subject and I encourage you to read it. There have been people who have not appreciated Invisible Children and Judea gave her thoughts about those people. Please take action in some way to stop Joseph Kony.
