lancelot

Last Wednesday was the first day of school of my senior year. The beginning of my senior year didn't start off too amazing! The Saturday before classes started, my roommate and I were loading her stuff that she kept in our stable for the summer in to the back of my dads truck. Well, I walked straight in to a mirror and cut my head open. I had a huge cut on my forehead and I had a HUGE knot on my forehead as well. Sunday morning, as I was getting ready for church, I accidentally used my contact disinfecting solution rather than my regular contact solution. The result was an INTENSE burning and my eye was BRIGHT red for a couple of days and I had to wear my glasses. Monday and Tuesday weren't too bad thankfully. But, on Wednesday (let's keep in mind that I am a senior AND I have been on OBU's campus since I was 2 weeks old), I WENT TO THE WRONG BUILDING FOR ONE OF MY CLASSES!!!!! It was pretty pathetic. Then it started pouring down rain and I had no umbrella. Ha ha Let's just say I didn't have the best of luck!

This is Chelsy (our neighbor), me and Sara (my roommate) on our first day of therapy!! (: I might add that we got all the way to Bismarck schools and we weren't allowed inside because we didn't have our drivers licenses...so we went and got donuts instead! (:

After the first day of school was over, things started to run pretty smoothly. I have so many friends living in my apartment complex and we have so much fun! We all get together and cook dinner, grill out, have "Jersday" (Jersey Shore Thursday), and just hang out! Two of my best guy friends have been grilling out a lot. Nick and Brock are both on the baseball team and are both amazing cooks! This was our first cook out of the year! We made buffalo chicken, rice and steamed broccoli!
This past Saturday, my friend Cass needed me to watch his ADORABLE chocolate lab puppy, Cabella (or Bella for short). So, Sara and I took her out to Lake DeGray to the softball/baseball cookout (I was awarded the title of bat girl so that I could go haha) and Bella absolutely LOVED it! She is such a sleepy puppy and loves to ride in the lap of whoever is driving! Look closely at the pictures...her "nails" are painted pink! (:When I was waiting on Cass to come pick her back up, we took her in to the apartment for a few minutes (yes, I know it's against the rules but it was too hot outside). She is just the most adorable thing in the world.
When Cass came to get her, Brock tagged along and he LOVES Bella and felt like being just like her so he would lay in the same position as Bella and then she'd move and he'd try to get in the same position. This went on for about 20 minutes and it was quite comical!

Later that night we went to a bonfire that had no fire. At the moment, there is a burn ban for Clark County so all pretty much just went and stood in the woods where we would have had a bonfire if it wasn't so hot! Ha ha Sara, Lauren, Beau and I were anti-social as usual and just hung out on the back of our friend Landon's truck. Lauren's flash on her phone is SUPER bright, thus the reason Beau looks kind of high (which he is not). Ha ha
Being back at school has been so much fun! I'm definitely NOT ready to be done yet!!!!!!! :/

the next chapter

As most of you know, if you follow my sisters blog, her & her husband just bought a house in Fort Smith and they have just finished moving in. Luckily, I got to help with it :/ We got to go up there and strip wall paper and paint and etc.

If that wasn't fun enough, I just got moved in to my new apartment! (: At this very moment, I am sitting on my bed after my first night here! The apartment complex isn't the nicest looking of the OBU apartments but my roommate and I have decorated it super cute! We still have a few things left to do to it before it is all finished, but we are really excited! Once we get all of the empty boxes out of our living room and we get all of our stuff hung on the walls I'll post pictures of it! (:

Well, everyone is just about back to school. It is kind of bitter sweet. I am excited about school starting and I have missed my friends but I'm just not ready for it. I think it is mainly the fact that it is MY SENIOR YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate it & I don't even like to acknowledge it. This time next year I will have to be in the real world being a big girl and I am not ready for that to happen. I am sure my parents were ready to see me leave yesterday since just about every night this past month I crawl in to their bed and lay there getting my back rubbed until I fall asleep. It is kind of pathetic really. I just don't want to be a big kid yet. :( Where's Peter Pan when you need him???

Another bit of big exciting news is that Whitley Berry, who has been one of my closest friends for as long as I can remember got engaged last week!! SO EXCITING!!!!!! Her and I went to lunch this week and caught up (she's been in China this summer) and she asked me to be a bridesmaid, which I gladly accepted. I am so excited for her & Waylon. The big day is going to be May 19, the week after graduation. :/ After they get married, they are going to be moving to New Orleans where he will be attending seminary and she will be going in to family and marriage counseling. I can't believe she is getting married. We shouldn't be old enough for that to be happening yet. Ugh.

Anyway, I believe that that is all of the updates I have at the moment! I will be sure to post lots of pictures once they have been taken! (:

Wisdom Teeth.....bleh

Well, yesterday morning, promptly at 9:30 am, I got called back to see Dr. Lindsey. He hooked me up to all those machines and then gave me and IV & I was knocked out pretty quickly. I woke up some time after he cut out my wisdom teeth and I have been recovering since. I felt pretty good yesterday, a little loopy but over all I didn't feel too bad. Today however, I am swelling up like a balloon and I can hardly open my mouth. Luckily my 1 year old niece is here to help take care of me. She has only hit me in the mouth 2 times but she kissed me on the cheek to make up for it. She has learned that ice packs go on cheeks (or her belly) because she has been taking them from me and walking around with them and putting them up against people's faces...I don't guess she quite realizes yet that I'm the only one that needs them! Ha Anyway, I have been sitting on my parents bed all day long either sleeping, watching TV or reading The Help. My cousin Clinton got married this evening to Anja Talbert (now DeWitt) and I am very sad I wasn't able to attend. I am sure she looked absolutely stunning, since she already does on a daily basis! Anyway, I just took my medicine a few minutes ago so I think it is time for me to go to bed!

South Carolina

This past Tuesday, my mom, step-dad, brother and me headed to Charleston, South Carolina for 6 days. We were a little late getting to the airport (big surprise there) and we actually ended up missing our flight. They put us on stand-by for the next couple of flights. Unfortunately, we were all split up but we all ended up getting there around the same time! Once we got to Charleston, we headed to our hotel, the Harborview Inn, and it was absolutely amazing. I completely fell in love and want to move there! We were right in the harbor, downtown, and had amazing views no matter where we were...and not to mention the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on in my entire life!!Wednesday, we all woke up early, had breakfast on the rooftop overlooking the harbor, and then we got on a ferry and headed to Fort Sumpter. Fort Sumpter is where the Civil War began and it was so neat! I love history and I loved getting to see everything! It was a gorgeous day too which made it all that much better.
Thursday morning, we got up and headed to Pawley's Island. Pawley's Island is about 45 minutes to an hour away from Charleston. Our "resort" was this little bitty little hotel right on the beach. There was only a handful of people there (which if you know us, you know that made it perfect). On Friday we went out to the beach and then headed to Myrtle Beach; it was quite a bit different than Pawley's Island and Charleston. We went on an interesting ferris wheel search while we were there as well. Neither one of my parents like heights so the 18-story ferris wheel was an interesting trip! (:
Saturday we headed back to Charleston and went back to school shopping. I'm really excited for it to get cooler so I can wear my new clothes! (:
Overall, South Carolina was so much fun and I can't wait to go again next summer with everyone...as in EVERYONE (all 9 of us)!

Texas Trip

Man oh man am I behind on my updates! :/ Well, I guess I'll start where I left off. A few weeks ago, I went down to Texas to visit my roommate Sara who lives in Flower Mound, TX. We had so much fun! And I really can't wait to move in to our new apartment next month!! (: Anyway, while I was at Sara's, her dog LOVED all of the attention he got. If you can't tell in this picture, Tucker was enjoying sharing a bed with us!The second day I was there, we went shopping and just kind of hung out. Sara showed me around the town and we went and saw the actual flower mound, which was pretty cool! That night, we went to this festival that they have in town and it was a lot of fun! We saw the Josh Abbott Band, the Josh Crowe Band and then we watched a firework show! This is Sara and me before the concert! (: (If you can't tell by her freaking leg muscles, she's a softball player lol)
This is us during the concert. We attempted this picture about 10 times on our phones before we remembered we brought a camera! Ha ha
My camera is a little ghetto so I got a ton of horrible, blurry pictures. However, I luckily got one good one out of about 50!
After the concert and fireworks, us and few others went to look for the band to see if we could get some autographs. Unfortunately, Josh Abbott had already left BUT we got to meet the Josh Crowe band? and we went and sat on their tour bus for a few minutes and talked and then we had to go so our ride wouldn't leave us! We just went back to her house afterwards, went to bed, and then woke up the next morning and went to the pool. We had so much fun! & I can't wait till the fall!! (:

OBU's Graduation

Yesterday, OBU had their May 2011 graduation. It was a bitter sweet event! A bunch of my best friends graduated and I was so proud of them! :) This is a picture of the OBU diploma, Sam and I, Kyle and I and then me, AnnaLeigh and Lindsey. Sam is one of my closest friends. He graduated yesterday and it was very sad. Sam was accepted in to the Peace Corps and he leaves in August for Zambia, Africa for 27 months. :( As most of you know, I am in charge of OBU's diamond doll's, which are the girls that take care of the baseball team. The past two years, I have been Kyle's diamond doll and we got really close. He is probably the nicest person I have ever met and I am going to miss him so much! :( Also this semester, I have gotten really close to AnnaLeigh and Lindsey, who are with me in the bottom picture. We have so much fun together and I am gonna miss AnnaLeigh so much!!
This is a picture of AnnaLeigh and I, and then a group of us! Once again, AnnaLeigh and I have gotten so close this semester and I'm really going to miss her! :( BUT we are going to Florida in July so it's okay! hehe :) The group picture is (back row) Sam, Michael, Kyle, Landon (who is hidden) and Brock. (Front row) Me, AnnaLeigh and Justin.
Graduation was a lot of fun. I am so proud of all of them and I'm really going to miss them! :(

Fish Olympics

Last week was finals week! :/ Which means there were no classes and everyone studied for finals. EXCEPT for us! (: My friends and I decided we would rather go to my pond behind my house and do a little fishing! So, every day during finals week, except for Thursday and Friday, we went fishing! Nick, AnnaLeigh, Sam, Sara and Brock decided we would have fish olympics. This is a picture of Clear Lake (Where I went fishing with my friends Beau and Kurt one day), then Sara and her fish, Sam and his classy fishing attire, and then AnnaLeigh and Nick with the fish that AnnaLeigh caught!Fish olympics were a lot of fun!! Sara got gold! She caught like 12 fish and a turtle! :( I kept catching Shamu, because he kept taking my bait and then he'd swim off real fast and just snap my line in two seconds! I was not a happy camper! :( But, we had so much fun!!!
